Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861’ skipper, Sourav Ganguly, who missed the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore, has expressed that he decided to rest as he wanted to give chances to the youngsters but will be back for Pune’s next fixture of the
fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The Warriors started the current season in a magnificent manner as they won three of their initial four matches. Pune could not make a huge impression in the previous edition of the league but after a promising start, the cricket
analysts were predicting that Ganguly and his men will make it to the last four of the tournament.
However, all the good work went in vain as Pune failed to perform consistently in the tournament and is currently reeling at the bottom of the points table with merely eight points after 14 matches, just ahead of Deccan Chargers.
Ganguly has been immensely criticized in the tournament because of his lackluster approach with the bat, which has put the other batsmen under pressure throughout the event. Many former cricketers believe that ‘Dada’ should call it
a day from all kinds of competitive cricket, as he has already retired from the international sport.

The former Indian captain expressed that IPL has a hectic schedule and this is the reason why he wanted to take a break. However, the left-handed batsman made it clear that his career is not over and will be back in the team for the
next match, which is scheduled to be played on Sunday, against Rajasthan Royals.
"Well, I have taken a break. It's been a long time on the road. Just wanted to give an opportunity to the youngsters. I'll be back for the next game and lead the side," said Ganguly.
