‘Sourav’s The Food Pavilion’ shut down due to constant losses - Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sourav-Chandidas-Ganguly-c90746, the former Indian captain, has finally decided to close down his restaurant c*m bar named as ‘Sourav’s The Food Pavilion’ after being unable to spare time for its maintenance and invest revenue to fund its continuous losses.
The café was a joint venture of Ganguly and his elder brother, Snehasish and both have unanimously opted to snub the white elephant.
Since its opening in 2004, the restaurant had been incurring lose and despite the legendry cricketer’s strenuous efforts, it had never produced profit. On the contrary, the cafes surrounding The Food Pavilion at Upmarket Park Street were earning lavishly.
Somehow, the damage was due to Ganguly’s inability to give time to the business as he had many other adventures and avenues to concentrate on.
Explaining their decision before media, Snehasish said, “We were busy with our respective commitments. We did not want to see a brand attached with Sourav being neglected. So we had to take this step after much thought.”
He further told, “Sourav fans coming to this part of the world would definitely miss something. But we could not help... Let's see may be in near future, we may think of coming up with something on this line.”
This step was taken last night when Ganguly was in commentary box of Trent Bridge, Nottingham to announce Team India’s nerve-crushing defeat to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c749 in 2nd Test.
Abolition of this business is a third huge blow for Ganguly in a row since the dawn of the year 2011. Earlier this year, the legend was dismissed from the captaincy of Kolkata Knight Riders, an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise and one month back, an
Indian court of law ruled to cancel State of West Bengal’s land allotment to him.
However, Ganguly regards the loss of KKR’s leadership as bigger than all as the legend loves cricket and is known as ‘Dada’ in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 for his heroics at the international and domestic levels.
Making his international debut in 1996, Ganguly played 113 Tests and 311 ODIs before retiring in 2008. He led the KRR during the first three editions of the IPL.
