Source say Toronto Blue Jays’ manager search in decisive stages – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays close sources are speculating in the media that general manager Alex Anthopoulos is close to hiring a new manager.
The Blue Jays’ without a manager currently are making much noise with their recent ambitious deal with the Miami Marlins.
Both managements carried out a big trade which involved almost 12 professional players.
However, the Blue Jays’ GM has turned his attention towards bringing a new skipper in the side. Blue Jays former manager recently traded to the Red Sox job as it was a part of a deal between both managements.
"I'm extremely excited to be returning to the Red Sox and to Boston, I love this organization. It's a great franchise in a special city and region, with great fans, and we want nothing more than to reward their faith in us," Farrell said joining the Red Sox.
Sources are also saying that Blue Jays' GM has also described in the media that he soon will be finalising a new manager for Toronto’s big league team.
According to a renowned sports website, Jays' GM has shortlisted two former managers. Jim Tracy, the former Colorado Rockies and Washington Nationals’ 2011 Major League Baseball season manager Jim Riggleman are on Anthopoulos’ priority list.
“But as I’ve said many times before: if you hear a rumour about us, it’s almost always not true. When reports are accurate is when things are done. That’s something I’ve always maintained since I’ve been here,” said Blue Jays GM said on a new manager’s search after several speculations came out in the media.
Both former managers have a good past record and if one of them does come in the Blue Jays, there is a high possibility that they will receive a long contract.
Experts believe that Jim Tracy is more likely to sign with the Blue Jays. He is also a former Major League Baseball player and knows all tricks of the trade.
As a player with the Chicago Cubs and as manager with Los Angeles Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates and Colorado Rockies, Tracy could be a right choice for the Blue Jays.
