Sources say Toronto Blue Jays look for fifth starter – MLB News
Some inside Major League Baseball sources are speculating in the media that the Toronto Blue Jays are in need of a fifth starter at the moment which will support the team’s dire bullpen situation and in the coming days will be helping the team to perform
consistently in future as well.
Currently the Jays’ are playing with Ricky Romero, Brandon Morrow, Henderson Alvarez and Kyle Drabek, but need a good fifth starter in order to achieve consistent results.
The team currently playing relatively average game, but in order to perform consistent and power packed games they have to bring a fifth starter before the mid season break.
“I don’t have an exact number, but you’ve seen them all in spring training, The guys who started opening day or first or second game, kind of fall in line, just counting out five days from the minor league opening day.” said Jays’ manager John Farrell after
the recent game against the Baltimore Orioles with explaining all the recent issues that need to be solved.
Later Evan Crawford said who was coming on the field with a short break, “Just getting to come out on the field is a euphoric feeling, It’s one of those things that you’ve always looked forward to, and you’re not sure if it’s real when it happens, but it
was awesome.”
Earlier in the offseason and later in Spring Training, the team looked prepared and seemed ready to go into the fresh Major League season, but as the season gets underway the Blue Jays have lost the real thrust.
They have lost four games with big margins and showing no offensive power at the moment. On the other hand, the arrival of fifth starter will certainly improve the things and made Blue Jays’ realise that good pitchers do count in any team’s consistent wins
and to win titles.
The team manager John Farrell also knows his team’s situation at the moment as he is putting extra pressure on his top management to decide on what exactly and on what price they have to prepare a financial proposal to land a good starter in the team.
