Sous Les Cieux has every chance to win Irish Daily Mirror War Of Attrition Novice Hurdle at Punchestown
Willie Mullins’ Sous Les Cieux has the highest chance of winning Irish Daily Mirror War Of Attrition Novice Hurdle, being held at Punchestown on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
The Grade 1 event is scheduled to start at 16:55 GMT. Mullins’ high status trainee is geared up to knock down his 11 powerful opponents.
Among his opposition are: Ipsos Du Berlais, Bridgets Pet, My Murphy, Marasonnien, Sea Of Thunder, Jetson, Please Talk, Castle Wings, Spring Heeled, Vesper Bell and Cootamundra.
Sous Les Cieux is not in winning mood these days, but it would be foolish to overlook his class. In the recent Cheltenham Festival, he failed to live up to the expectations.
The Grade 1 Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle saw him finishing fifth on the table. The Mrs S Ricci-owned recorded his last win in December last year, when he seized the top place in the Bar One Racing Royal Bond
Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Although he needs something special to stand first today, he can easily be declared the best option for the punters. Among his rivals, Ipsos Du Berlais is being considered as the biggest threat.
Noel Meade’s trainee earned some respect following his fourth place in the Grade 1 John Smith's Sefton Novices' Hurdle at Aintree earlier this month.
At the start of this year, the six-year-old did a great job at Punchestown, clinching the top place by six and a half lengths in the Noel Farrelly Memorial Hurdle.
My Murphy is another huge threat to Sous Les Cieux. The six-year-old is delivering good results consistently. In mid March, W. J. Burke’s trainee displayed a wonderful act to ensure the top rank in the Irish Stallion Farms European
Breeders Fund Novice Hurdle at Navan.
Bridgets Pet has also been given decent odds, but it would be an uphill task for Anthony Mullins’ trainee. According to our calculations, Sous Les Cieux would be able to put his opponents under tremendous pressure.
Both Ipsos Du Berlais and My Murphy are dangerous runners, but they require an extra effort to spring up a surprise. We wish the best of luck to everyone.
