  1. Don't know why everyone is so surprised, SA have capitulated in major ODI games before (look at their history at the ODI and 20/20 world cup). They sometimes get too complacent, think they can win without effort and consequently don't mentally show up to play (as evidenced by their poor shot selection and below par bowling yesterday). Not to mention the fact that they're probably a little fatigued and suffering from end of touritis. That may all sound a little harsh but yesterday's showing was abysmal.

But nothing should be taken away from the fact that England played awesome cricket yesterday and under Pietersen have finally showed what a good one day team they can be. Their bowling was spot on, everyone contributed (except Anderson and even he had his good moments producing late swing), their fielding was good especially Prior who was excellent (and finally showed the good side of his keeping to go with his good batting) and what little batting they had to do was confident and both Bell and Prior used some great shot selections.

  2. england are good

  3. because stuart broad is the best giant man ever!!!

  4. Superb, accurate fast bowling.

Yeah, I don't know how that happened either. ;)

  5. Too much cricket.

  6. Blame the Aussie umpires

  7. OMG, that's terrible! What has gone wrong with the Proteas? I thought they were getting back to their best a few months ago, but this sure doesn't look like it.It will be a short match.

  8. An excellent bowling performance by England and a dismal batting from SA.

  9. With the weather being so bad in the UK this summer, and the Proteas being on a long tour,I reckon home sickness has something to do with the latest results.Don't take anything away from England though. And KP will be a far better captain than MV!

  10. players nick the balll one by one. so they lose all their wickets

  11. Trouble is "We flatter to deceive",the shows not over till the fat lady sings.

  12. good bowling and good cricket by England, nothing else, and a bad day for South Africa.

  13. I think everyone was suprised by it!

A mixture of some bad shots (Gibbs, Kallis, Nel and Morkel)

Great bowling (Broad to Smith, Duminy) (Flintoff to Boucher and Steyn)

and bad umpiring decisions (De Villiers and Botha)

Basically the South Africans didnt expect as much pace and bouce, Broad got the ball to move early on and the South Africans crumbled. Shaun Pollock said it best when he said South Africa should be able to adjust to a pitch which has more pace and bounce!! but they never adjusted.

    Prior was awesome too!! :D

  14. They lost 10 wickets in their innings.

  15. lack of application while batting

  16. SA underestimated England.

After loosing there first few wickets, they didnt seem to adjust there game plan... infact it didnt seem as though they had a game plan. what Mickey ArtHur and Greame Smith were doing in the dressing room during this time... h**l I dont know. But The South Africans just never adjusted to the conditions. Which is quite disappointing because they can beat England on any given day if they have their heads in the game!

  17. bcoz of great bowling spell by broad

  18. Monty Panesar wasn't bowling. If he was you could add about another 200 runs!

  19. 3 words:

    SHEER, DUMB, LUCK!!!

  20. luck and hardwork of the opponent bowlers.

  21. Tired and jaded at the end of a long tour. England rejuvenated under KP's captaincy.

  22. Thanks to S.Broad's excellent bowling!

    :] Well Done England!

  23. Once in a while every team has a bad day and i think this was one for the South Africans, not to put the Brits down because they have been playing a great criket lately!

To the answerer above if Monty was in the game they might have all out at 50 runs!

  24. Its very simple what south africa is doing is allowing the poms to build up there ego before the ashes series and sit back and watch the aussie flogged the poor poms again 5 - 0

  25. wicked bowling  by England !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    .

  26. did not that the time to bat

  27. It's not surprising that RSA was all-out, what's more surprising is that England did it.

It goes to show that England is now going towards getting in action by finally putting together a great team.

  28. LOL!

In this form it looks like that England will win the Ashes!
