Earlier in the day, the Kangaroos piled up a huge score of 293 in the first innings; thanks to brilliant batting by the two opening batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 and Philip Hughes.
The Aussie skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TD-Paine-c2652, opted to bat first since the conditions were ideal for the batsmen. The two openers did not waste the opportunity as Australia’s first wicket fell at a score of 208. Warner walked out of the park after scoring a fine knock
of 120 including 10 lovely boundaries and three massive sixes. Soon after Warner’s departure, Hughes went back to the pavilion after smashing an outstanding innings of 138.
Later in the innings, the Kangaroos failed to capitalise on the situation as no batsman except http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaron-Finch-c881, could reach double figures.
From the South African bowling department, Roelof http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Alexandrino-Andre-Kirton-c43286 Theron claimed one wicket each, the rest of the bowlers left the field without
any scalp.
In reply, the Proteas openers started the proceedings on a great note, laying a solid foundation by racking up a 68-run partnership for the first wicket. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Jonathan-David-Vandiar-c69105 was the first South African batsman to leave the field, giving away his wicket at an
individual score of 16. The number-three position batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Griffith-c919 one, getting out when he was batting at eight.

The Proteas were in a decent position to go all the way to overhaul the score. However, it would not be an easy task since the Aussie side had some world-class bowlers who could turn the table around at any moment. With seven wickets in hand, the South African
side required 154 more runs in 25 overs to win the finale of the Tri-series.
