South Africa A v Australians: Tour First-Class match – Day 2 - First Session Report
Resuming their innings from 115/3, the Australians added 93 more runs for the loss of 6 wickets to their first innings against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 A till the end of the First Session of Day 2, on November 2, 2011, at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom.
Play on Day 1 was closed when Australia’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RT-Ponting-c2377 (2). They had played 34 overs. Before this,
they bowled the Africans out for merely 183 runs in their first innings.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Simon-James-Marshall-c90362, who completed his 22nd First-Class half-century yesterday, could not advance his innings well and fell after adding just 6 more runs. He played 129 balls to make 57 runs with the help of 10 boundaries.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 played an excellent knock and lashed 76 off 123 deliveries, including 11 sterling fours before losing his wicket.

The next two batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Michael-Lyon-c78822, stayed firm on the crease and showed
resilience against the African bowlers till the end of the first session. He had made 11 with the help of 2 excellent boundaries.
The African bowlers had given away at least 20 extra runs. Thus the Kangaroo side totalled 208 with 3.10 run rate per over.
In the bowling department of the home team, Marchant de Lange took the day by bowling 5 players out for just 56 runs, while http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-McLaren-c2232 bagged one wicket each.
As per the expert opinion, the Africans will be able to start their 2nd innings today after they pick the last wicket of the Australians, probably soon after returning from the lunch break. Thus, the remaining two days of the match will show tough
competition.
