South Africa Coach http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gary-Kirsten-c58527 advises Proteas fans to be patient
Gary Kirsten, the newly appointed coach of South Africa Cricket Team, has advised fans not to be overambitious about change and back the players with patience.
The former South African opener and India coach believes that change does not come overnight, it takes time.
Just after a day of Gary’s new job, the South Africans are expecting him to prepare the side for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup glory that, he thinks, is not possible yet.
Gary said, “The next World Cup is still four years away and I have not even started to think about it”.
Gary has just returned from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 after successfully coaching the side for some years. He enabled the Men in Blue to lift the World Cup 2011 trophy at their home ground and become the world’s No 1 Test and No 2 ODI team.
After quitting his Indian job, Gary was not ready to start with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 as he wanted time off but his home fans and patriotic passion forced him to take on another tough responsibility.
Gary thinks that there is a wide difference between India and South Africa and he will take time to put things right. He said, “Cricket is a universal language, but India and South Africa have two very different cultures and I will need time to get used
to how things are done here again”.
However, he has some solid plans to kick-start the uplift process. He revealed, “We first have to create a culture of empowerment in which everybody is encouraged to take difficult decisions, rather than just one or two people”.
After the Proteas’ World Cup failure, the team has been in shambles. The coach and the ODI skipper had resigned and the cricket board was confronting many challenges due to internal rifts.
Their fans were highly disappointed at this situation but Gary emerged as a new ray of hope for them.
Some analysts argue that the only hope for the Proteas to regain their lost glory is an upcoming home series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. The new coach hopes that they will thrive in the series.
