They made early inroads in the seventh over by grabbing the wicket of Western Province opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Caleb-Kleinveldt-c75120 who departed after playing a knock of 14 runs off 29 deliveries. At the time of his departure, WP had managed to post 27 runs on the board.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mujahid-Behardien-c77900 then crafted a handy innings of 27 runs to take the tally to 54 runs before Walters was given leg-before wicket on 32 runs off the bowling of right-arm pacer Ayabulela Gqamane in the 16th
over.
In the 18th over Behardien was trapped right in front of stumps by Darryl Lewis Brown, which resulted in his demise after playing a short innings of seven runs off 24 deliveries.
With three wickets down for 55 runs, WP needed their batsmen to bat long enough to post a respectable total on the board.

In the end, Western Province ended their innings by posting 186 runs on the board.
Coming out to bat, Border had a disastrous start to their innings as they lost their first wicket on the second delivery of the second over when opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shaun-de-Kock-c89836 was adjudged leg-before wicket on a delivery by Brandon Viret after scoring just four runs
off six deliveries.
At this time, the side had managed to post five runs on the board.
On the penultimate delivery of the 12th over Border suffered the loss of their second wicket on 28 runs when http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vuyisa-Makhaphela-c95597 had his timber disturbed by Weshaam Keraan.
Later, with 50 runs on the board the team had lost four wickets. Things were certainly not looking bright for the side batting second and there was a growing need for the remaining batsmen to take some responsibility.
