Gauteng 316/8 (84.0 ov) v Easterns - Easterns won the toss and elected to field
On the first day of the three-day match in the ongoing CSA Provincial Three-Day Challenge, Gauteng posted 316 runs for the loss of eight wickets against Easterns at New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg on Tuesday, December 27, 2011.
After winning the toss, Easterns decided to field first in bid to restrict their opposition on a meagre tally on a bowling pitch.

The batsmen clobbered 197 runs in the second wicket partnership, ripping apart the opposition piece by piece.
It was finally in the 52nd over when Easterns grabbed their second wicket as they dismissed Jennings on 74 runs. At the time of this wicket, the side had posted 199 runs on the board.
Meanwhile, Bodi kept on batting sensationally as he seemed well set to score a big innings against a decent bowling attack.
He lost his wicket after smashing a stupendous innings of 134 runs off 188 deliveries as the side lost this crucial wicket with 219 runs on the board.
With 228 runs on the board, the batting side lost their fourth wicket, when batsman Grant Mokoena was dismissed after scoring six runs.
