Cape Cobras trail by 107 runs with two wickets remaining in their first innings against Warriors as the side hammered 213 runs at stumps at Boland Park, Paarl on Wednesday, December 28, 2011.
Earlier, Warriors resumed the their first innings after having posted 239 runs at stumps on the first day of the four-day match in the ongoing SuperSport Series.
With only four wickets down, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Colin-Alexander-Ingram-c51381 batting stupendously on 119 runs, Warriors were in a strong position to dominate their opposition on the second day.

At the time of his demise, the side had amassed 248 runs on the board.

Cobras failed to get off to a flying start as they lost their first wicket with only 13 runs on the board when opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Puttick-c1043 fell after playing a meagre innings of just two runs.
With 21 runs on the board, they lost their second wicket when number-three batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stiaan-van-Zyl-c91407 perished after scoring just a run.
Opener http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Yaseen-Vallie-c2807 then perished after hammering 23 runs with only 48 runs on the board. These were surely difficult times for the batting side as they were losing wickets quickly and needed to halt the belligerent bowling onslaught that was unleashed upon them by the Warriors.
It was the fourth-wicket partnership of 103 runs between http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JP-Duminy-c1742 that turned the tide in favour of Cape Cobras as the two batsmen brought stability in the batting line-up and paralyzed the flamboyant bowling onslaught.
Ontong fell after hammering 68, while Duminy was dismissed after playing an innings of 62 runs, as the side managed to post a decent total on the board, but still fell short of Warriors’ first innings tally.
