On Saturday, January 28, 2012 Warriors required another 356 runs with seven wickets in hand against Dolphins in the four-day match of the SuperSport Series at Kingsmead, Durban.
After ending the second day with 179 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their first innings, Warriors resumed their batting on Saturday with SR Harmer and ACR Birch in a bid to post a massive tally on the board in response to Dolphins first innings total of 321 runs.
Both batsmen aimed to take off their side to a flying start on the third day of the match, however, Birch became the first causality of the day when he was removed by spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193 Tahir after playing an innings of 17 runs. At the time of his demise, the side has amassed 185 runs on the board.
Rusty Theron then came out in the middle to help his side achieve batting superiority over the opposition; nevertheless, the team could muster only 211 runs at the end of their first innings with Harmer hammering an innings of 51 runs and Theron slicing 14 runs off 30 deliveries.
From Dolphins, spinner Imran Tahir unleashed havoc by bagging five wickets in his 32 overs.
Getting a second chance to bat, Dolphins batsmen once again gave a brilliant performance as they batted handsomely against the fielding side.

Meanwhile, with 82 runs on the board, the side lost their second wicket when opener Wyk perished after hammering 26 runs.
Later, middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Lawson-Miller-c53037 smashed a resilient innings of 71 runs and remained unbeaten as he helped his side post 275 runs on the board at the end of their second innings, giving Warriors a target of 386 runs to win the match.
Warriors had a terrible start to their second innings as they could bolster only 30 runs at stumps for the loss of three wickets.
