After ending the second day of the game by posting 42 runs for the loss of two wickets, Dolphins resumed play on the third day in a bid to post a challenging first innings total against a tally of 340 runs by Knights.

The batsmen took charge right from the word go as they smacked the bowlers all around the park, making mincemeat of the opposition.
They hammered 45 runs in the third-wicket partnership, as they seemed destined to dominate Knights and place their team in a comfortable position.
However, with 54 runs on the board, Jaarsveld lost his wicket after playing a well tamed innings of 19 runs.
After the demise of this wicket, Dolphins suffered a batting collapse and lost six wickets by the time they had managed to post 99 runs on the board.

The batsman smashed 80 runs in the 8th wicket-partnership, which later helped the side amass 240 runs on the board at the end of their first innings.

Coming out to bat in their second innings, Knights after suffering the loss of their first wicket without a run on the board, managed to avert a batting meltdown and amassed 110 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets at stumps.
