South Africa Under-19s v England Under-19s - Youth ODI Series - 6th ODI - Match Preview
The 6th Youth One-Day International between England U19 and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Canterbury-c775, on July 28, 2011.
The visitors are firmly in the box seat after winning a mouthwatering 5th ODI, which went down to the wire.
Having posted a impressive 300 on the board, England were left clutching at straws as a late surge by the Proteas saw them come trumps on the final ball of the match.
This gives the visitors an unassailable lead in the 7 match series, where they have had 3 wins, against a solitary for their opponents.
However, with both sides playing some exciting cricket, one cannot take anything away from the youth that have given full entertainment and value to the cricketing fans.
Discussing the 6th ODI, it will be a do or die situation for the English contingent. In order to level the series they must do some extraordinary work to at least take the series to the final ODI.
For that, the most important element for them would be the bowling department, which yet again promised so much, but failed to deliver when asked.
The batting was up to the mark, with Daniel Bell- Drummond again leading from the front, scoring yet another half-century to provide his side with a superb start. Also all the top four batsmen made past the 50-run mark, which will be a sigh of relief for
the team as they hope to narrow down the series deficit.
As for their opponents, one must appreciate the never-die attitude among the Proteas. After being outplayed for most of the previous match, the lower-order clicked and staged a breathtaking comeback, which left their opponents in utter shock.
The Proteas have managed to keep themselves just a step ahead of their opponents and one would bet on them to take the series title, come the end of the 6th ODI.
Their star performer without a doubt has been, Prenelan Subrayen. He has been special for the side with the ball and became the man of the moment when needed to bat. His 48 of 33 balls in the last match, which also included 4 boundaries and 2 huge sixes,
paved the way for a memorable victory.
It was a disappointing one-off game for South African opener, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Quinton-de-Kock-c82885, who went for a first ball duck in the previous match.  This led Bell-Drummond to climb up and take the summit on the scorer sheet.
Analyzing the performance of the captains, one has to agree that is has been a disappointment in terms of batting. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Ball-c41883, the English skipperm has fared better as compared to his counterpart, as far as the runs table is concerned.
While Ball managed 111 in his five outings so far, Keaton Jennings has only managed a meager 67.
Though, in terms of rallying his troops, the latter has been far more instrumental. He has shown maturity and leadership qualities, which placed his team in a much better position as compared to his counterpart.
Now all eyes will be on the Canterbury match, where if going by the course of series, one is sure to expect another nail biting match in prospect.
