On Tuesday, January 17, 2012 South Africa Under-19s won their Tri-Nation Under-19s Tournament match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843 College, Somerset West.
Zimbabwe, after winning the toss in the seventh match of the tournament, chose to bat first in a bid to bolster a daunting total on the board against an extremely impressive South African squad.
South Africa made early in roads by grabbing the wicket of Zimbabwe opener, Kevin Kasuza, on just a run as the batting side lost their first wicket with only two runs on the board.
With 18 runs on the board, Zimbabwe lost their second wicket when number-three batsman and skipper, Matthew Bentley, fell after playing a cameo innings of four runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Thomas-Anthony-Bruce-c66132 then forged an impressive partnership with opener Luke Masasire, as the duo clobbered the bowlers all around the park without remorse.
The opener then perished after scoring 19 runs, as Zimbabwe managed to post 63 runs on the board at the time of this wicket.
17-year-old, Ryan Burl, then missed out on an opportunity to score runs against the South Africans as he lost his wicket on nil.
With 70 runs on the board, the batting side lost their fifth wicket when James Bruce found his way back to the pavilion after playing an innings of 31 runs.
It was then later in the innings that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Campbell-c49176 Light played an unbeaten knock of 59 runs to help his side amass 171 runs.
Left-arm spinner, Lesiba Ngoepe, was the most successful bowler from his side with three wickets to his name in ten overs.
Needing 172 runs to win from 50 overs, South Africa also failed to get off to a flying start as they lost their first wicket with only six runs on the board as opener Gihahn Cloete fell after scoring only two runs.
With 35 runs on the board, they lost their second wicket as opener, Murray Coetzee, perished after playing an innings of 14 runs.
While wickets, kept falling at random, it was the unbeaten knock of 50 runs by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chad-Bowes-c49511 that helped the side reach the required target in 42.1 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
CR Light from Zimbabwe was named as the Player of the Match for giving a commendable show with the bat.
