“As an opening bowler I have to set the tone for the team ,” Finn said. “It's my job up front ... to get them out early on. I relish that opportunity. It's great that Broady entrusts me with that new ball.”
England were themselves the victims of a devastating bowling attack in the last group stage match they played in the ongoing ICC World Twenty20 2012, against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, as they were bowled out for their lowest total yet – 80. However, having already qualified
for the Super Eights stage of the tournament, the Poms are looking to put the defeat behind them and put their best foot forward. Their next match is due to be played against the West Indies, and faced with the challenge of the formidable http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221, Finn
will be required to step up and dislodge the hard-hitting batsmen before he does any major damage.
Having moved on to the Super Eights stage of the ongoing ICC World Twenty20 2012 on the strength of an 8-wicket victory over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747, Pakistan are still in the running for the cup, but captain Mohammed Hafeez has cautioned the team regarding the
challenges that lie ahead.
“We have a stiff challenge. All the eight teams in the game are good,” Hafeez observed. “We will have to raise our game and our bowlers will have to do the basics right. Colombo will be a bit different as far as the pitch is concerned. We've had a good time
here, playing positively and hopefully we will do better in the Super Eights.”
Placed in Group D for the first stage of the tournament, alongside New Zealand and Bangladesh, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 played their group stage matches in Pallekele, defeating the Kiwis (by 13 runs) and then Bangladesh to move into the Super Eights. However, as the teams
are narrowed down to the toughest contenders, Pakistan are bound to find themselves faced with increasingly daunting oppositions. Their current Group 2 in the Super Eights includes http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, South Africa, and India, and the matches will be played in Colombo.
Pakistan’s first match is scheduled for September 28, against South Africa at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
