http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 can be the No. 1 cricket team – Kristen- Cricket News Update
South African Coach, Gary Kristen, is confident that his side can dominate the cricketing world, provided they are able to maintain their current form.
The Proteas recently returned home after thrashing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JH-Kallis-c1692.
Kristen, who previously led http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Test ranking, feels happy after his team’s outstanding performances against the Kiwis, where they lost just one match out of the 9 they played.
"It was nice to go on tour and connect with all the players. We have new management, and some new players, and we were a long way from home, but we connected well as a unit,” said Kirsten.
The 44-year-old mentor told that they have brought some positive changes in the team, including a change in the management along with including younger players , which has further allowed them to improve their overall game.
“We've set ourselves some lofty standards, and we want to be the best team in world cricket, so we're very excited about where we're going," said the former left-handed batsman.
Kristen’s next assignment is to train the Proteas for their upcoming tour of Poms, which will begin in July 2012. Despite the fact that SA is at second place in ICC's Test ranking, their past record of playing against England in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 is not good as they
have won only 3 of the 14 Test matches.
Similarly, the wining stats in ODIs are not encouraging either, as the Chokers have lost 12 out of 15 on English soil.
Nonetheless, the coach is confident in the ability of his team to put behind their previous poor showings and get the better of the no.1 ranked side.
He further added that they have already made proper planning in this regard.
"I feel that we've taken the step that we needed to in terms of being ready to go,” concluded the ambitious mentor.
