The Proteas amassed a total of 351 for 5 batting first with splendid hundreds by their two leading batsmen Hashim Amla and AB deVilliers.
The South Africans got off to a good start with Graeme Smith and Hashim Amla striking the ball with great composure despite testing conditions for the batsmen.
The opening wicket stand between Smith and Amla got the team off to a respectable start. Jacques Kallis, who was returning to the team after a long layoff, was sent packing for only 2 runs. The Netherlands were delirious with the scalp, which was taken by
their go to man, Ryan ten Doeschate.
However, the match went completely pear shaped for them from their onwards and the centurions, Amla, and, de Villiers, tore through the Dutch bowling attack. The bearded Amla was the one, who held the innings together with a defiant knock, despite being
sluggish at the start of the innings.
Amla scored 113 runs in his knock that spanned over 130 balls. His innings was studded with 8 fours.
On the other hand, de Villiers was the one in imperious touch, smashing the ball all around the park. He continued in his scintillating ways, smashing 134 runs off 98 balls. He was eventually sent packing after an innings that included 4 sixes and 13 fours.
The South Africans eventually posted 351 runs, which at the end was too much for the amateur batsmen from the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Netherlands-c753.
The Netherlands was off to a decent start and looked like that they would make a fist of the target, but a stunning collapse ended their hopes as they crashed to 120 runs all out.
The guiles of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Imran-c64193 Tahir were too hot to handle, as he took 3 wickets, while Kallis and Robin Peterson took 2 wickets each in the Proteas’s 231 run win.
