Impressed by South Africa’s extremely potent fast bowling attack, Michael Clarke, the Australian captain, understands that his batsmen will have to be at their best, if the Kangaroos are to have any chance of dismantling the Proteas.
The crucial series, which will decide the number one ranked Test team of the world, starts from November 9, at Brisbane. Australia have already faced a setback in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SR-Watson-c2558’s calf-injury, which has ruled the all-rounder out of the first Test.
Most of the sporting analysts, who have kept a close eye on the progress of both the sides in the last 18 months, believe that the forthcoming series is going to be a battle of fast bowlers.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653. The latter two can be regarded among the world’s finest young bowlers, who are predicted for a great future.
However, the visitors have an edge in the bowling department, in the presence of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vernon-Philander-c2753, who have helped their side become the world’s best Test team.
In an exclusive interview to Fox Sports, the Australian captain admitted that the Proteas have a brilliant combination with all the bowlers having different qualities. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Clarke-c51120 believes that his opening batsmen must be at the top of their game to counter the threat posed by Philander and Steyn, who can swing the ball both ways.
He expressed, “South Africa have got a really good attack. They've got Philander, who with the new ball can swing the ball away, but generally brings the ball back in to the right-hander off the wicket. Dale Steyn has obviously been very successful over a long period of time. He bowls good pace, fast outswing.”
The 31-year-old cricketer further added that the late swing of South Africa’s new-ball bowlers is nicely complimented by the bounce of Morkel, who will be handy on hard Aussie pitches.
“And then Morne Morkel who's a lot taller, I think he's about 6'7'', and he hits the deck hard and brings it back in to the right hander as well. It's a very good attack, they complement each other because they're all different,” Clarke added.
