South Africa makes two changes for England Test
South African coach Peter De Villiers has made two changes to his team ahead of their Test match with England on Saturday 27 November.
Scrum-half Ruan Pienaar and back-row Pierre Spies are recalled for the game. Spies replaces Ryan Kankowski, while Pienaar returns in place of Francois Hougaard.
The Springboks lost their last match 21-17 to Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday 20 November.
South African coach Peter De Villiers is hoping for a more accurate performance from his team after the defeat. Speaking at a press conference, De Villiers said, "This team has all the ability we need, but what we all know is that we have to execute more
accurately than we did against Scotland last week."
The Springbok coach was eager to move on from the shock defeat to Scotland and he admitted that the South African team needed to cut out the errors in their last performance.
"That game [against Scotland] is behind us now, but we've looked hard at the lessons of it and know that we can't allow let ourselves to make as many mistakes in our basic execution," said De Villiers.
England will go into the Test as favourites after impressing in the Autumn Internationals. They recorded a fantastic 35-18 win over Australia and backed that up with a solid 26-13 win over Samoa.
The South African coach will know that England are the form team in the northern hemisphere and he is predicting a tough encounter.
"England have made good progress since they started their tour to Australia this year and will be full of confidence. A full Twickenham will ensure that this is the toughest Test of the tour for us,” said De Villiers.
The Springbok coach is eager for his team to show their potential and react to last week’s poor defeat. "Saturday's performance wasn't a true reflection of the talent in this squad and the players want to put that right and end the Test season on a high,"
he said.
