http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 name three wicketkeepers in ‘A’ side – Cricket News Update
Cricket South Africa selectors, on Thursday named three wicketkeepers in their A side for the Twenty20 practice match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754, to be played at Pietermaritzburg next Tuesday, December 18, 2012.
With veteran wicketkeeper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MV-Boucher-c2048 having forced to retire earlier this year due to a serious eye injury, the Proteas’ selectors are determined to try all possible options over the course of the summer to find a long-term replacement for Boucher behind the stumps in all three forms.
Limited-overs skipper and a world class batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887 currently holds the gloves in all the three formats, but going by his recurring back injury the CSA selectors want to relieve him of the wicket-keeping role as soon as possible to manage his workload.

Though 22-year-old Mosehle has lost the wicket-keeping role to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/HG-Kuhn-c1548 in the domestic circuit this season, his stellar performances with the bat in the one-day cup – a century and two half-centuries – earned him national selectors’ nod for the New Zealand assignment.
Jacobs, meanwhile, has recently returned to competitive cricket after missing the last season due to a severe hip injury. The 30-year-old Warriors gloveman has had a successful comeback, smashing two centuries in the first-class competition and an equal number of half-centuries in the one-day cup, besides an impressive show with the gloves behind the stumps.
Some familiar faces, including left-arm spinner Roelof van der Merwe and middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Vaughn-van-Jaarsveld-c2749, also make a return to the 12-man squad which will be captained by Justin Ontong. Both van der Merwe and Jaarsveld earned the recalls on the basis of good form in the one-day cup.
The only player in the A side who is also part of the 15-man national T20 squad for the three-match series against the Black Caps is the left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso.
The three-T20 series between South Africa and New Zealand, commencing in Durban on December 21, will be followed by two Tests and five One Day Internationals.
