South Africa recall Duminy and Parnell
South Africa completely dominated India as they pulled the plug on the first Test, claiming victory by an innings and 25 runs. They bowled exceptionally well and their batting was spot on. Since 1990, this has been India’s seventh
innings defeat since 1990. It is worth noting that four of these innings defeats have come at the hands of South Africa. India fought hard to make a comeback in the second innings however, the dismal performance in the first innings ensured an easy win for
the Proteas.
In an attempt to further strengthen their squad, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 have called upon JP Duminy along with the left arm fast bowler Wayne Parnell to add some more firepower to their bowling attack. The second Test of the series starts
in Durban on Sunday. The pair of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JP-Duminy-c1742 and Parnell have been added to the 12 man squad which managed to win the first Test by a massive margin.
South Africa are trying their best to reclaim the number one spot in Test rankings which was snatched away from them by India. However it is imperative to mention that India have been playing most of their Test matches in home
conditions which meant that they found themselves struggling in South Africa. Duminy has been performing very well in the domestic circuit after he scored an unbeaten double hundred. It would be a surprising move though if the selectors go ahead with bringing
a change at the number 6 spot considering that Ashwell Prince did not get an opportunity to bat.
Wayne Parnell on the contrary might have a good chance to replace Lonwabo Tsotsobe who was quite ordinary in the Test. He managed to take only one wicket for 148 runs. South Africa seem set in this series, however http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 on the
other hand will be looking to get Zaheer Khan back in the squad since their bowling was average and the lead bowlers could not get bounce off the wicket as the South African bowlers managed to do.
Squad: Graeme Smith (captain), Alviro Petersen, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ryan-McLaren-c87323, JP Duminy and Wayne
Parnell.
