Australia beat hosts South Africa by three wickets in the third One Day International (ODI) of the three match series on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Kingsmead, Durban and took the series by 2-1, leaving the revamped South African squad flabbergasted.
With the series levelled 1-1 it was imperative for both sides to put a good show and win the match at any cost and since both teams were meeting each other under the new leadership it was important for the captains to lead their sides to victories, due to this, the match attracted a large crowd which had come to see good cricket between the top two teams in the world of cricket.
After winning the toss, South Africa chose to bat first in a bid to put enough runs on the board to give the Australians a run for their money.
