South Africa vs. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771 Tigers - ICC World Cup 2011
Bangladesh is in a “do or die” situation as they face South Africa today in their Group B encounter of the ICC World Cup 2011 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The Proteas are leading the group standings and are assured of a spot in the knock-out
stage, as Bangladesh will need to produce an upset for any hope of reaching the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The Bengal Tigers are currently sitting at the fifth spot in their group standings, with six points from four games. Bangladeshi captain Shakib Al http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hasan-c61990 is optimistic that his side will pull of a win against the Proteas.
“We go into the match after two consecutive wins against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757,” said Shakib.
South African captain Graeme Smith is confident that his side will not choke against a weaker opposition and asserts that the pressure will be greater on Bangladesh.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Smith-c90598 said, “They need to win the game. We expect a very passionate crowd. They will also be the team under pressure so we hope to be able to force them into doing things they wouldn't want to do.”
The Bangladeshi bowling department is filled with spinners and they will prefer a wicket that has some turn. The grounds-keeper at Mirpur will try his best to make it a spinning track, as the conditions are ideal for cricket and no rain is expected.
Team form
The Proteas have always been amongst the best One Day International sides and their recent form attests it. They have won four matches from the last five in the tournament.
The Bengal Tigers have been in good form, but they find themselves fighting for the fourth spot in Group B, as they have won only three of their last five matches.
