South Africa vs India 2nd ODI first innings report
South Africa dominated the first half of the 2nd ODI against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, as the hosts got India all out for just 190 runs in the 48th over. It was the visiting team that won the toss and decided to bat first, and looking at the hard deck
it did seem to be a good decision at the start. However as soon as the innings began http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028’s decision to bat first started to look like the wrong one. South African pace attack did not let India settle at any stage and used seam and swing in the pitch extremely
well. Lonwabo Tsotsobe was once again the star with 4 wickets, while Yuvraj Singh was the only man in Indian line up to get to a fifty.
Indian opening pair of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Morne-Morkel-c77722 got the ball to talk and the shape towards the slip continued to tempt the Indians who were hesitant
to slash at the ball.
Vijay was the first one to go; the right hander had a tough time with just 16 runs from 33 balls. He was caught by Morne Morkel off the bowling of Lonwabo Tsotsobe. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Virat-Kohli-c95424 who was the top scorer for India in the last game was promoted up the order
and came in to bat at number 3. Things did not get any easier in the middle as the ball continued to swing, but he hung around with Sachin and put on 42 runs for the 2nd wicket before he was run out by a direct hit from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/David-Miller-c53105 for 22 runs.
Sachin Tendulkar who was not able to get after the bowling was unfortunate to have chopped on the ball to his stumps for 24 runs from 44 balls. India were up against it and Yuvraj Singh came in to bat with Captain MS Dhoni in the middle. The two batted
responsibly and made sure they did not lose any more wickets in the middle. The partnership lasted for 83 runs; Yuvraj was next to go when he was caught at mid off, by the bowling of Tsotsobe for 53 runs.
Suresh Raina came in to join his captain, but failed to add much to the total. Dhoni decided to take the batting power-play with 9 overs to go. But that spelled the end for the visitors, as Raina was out LBW on the very first ball of power-play. Rohit Sharma
came in and India would still have had some hope of making something of the power play. 2 overs Later http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahendra-Singh-Dhoni-c73820 was rolled over by a Yorker from Tsotsobe for 38 runs. It was down to Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan to get some runs in the final overs.
But Harbhajan was caught while going for a big one, and Sharma also followed soon. India were all out for 190 in the 48th over. The equation seems pretty simple for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 as they look to chase down the target with less than 4 runs per over.
