South African Rugby? A question for the boys...?

In 2007 South Africa won the Rugbby World Cup. Ever since then the whole world has kind of been looking up to them as if they were the best team in the world (and they were) but now ever since we have the new coach and the new players in our team, we've changed. We're not as good, and we've lost nearly all our matches. Please can you give me you opinion on this. Do you agree? Is South African Rugby going down the drain?

  1. even though i dont support them as i suppost the all blacks, i would still say that they are one of the best teams

  2. I agree with you! But allot of the South African player were getting older and they knew they weren't able to last it out the the next world cup and have sought European clubs who pay higher wages! And they probably though it was best to end their international carriers  at a high I'm mainly talking about Jon Smith, Victor Matfield and Butch James there is probably more but i can't think of them!

  3. Losing Matfield and Smit, the two best players in their position, doesn't help.

  4. Not eveyone has been looking up to them as the best team in the world, South Africa is not going down the drain, they'll bounce back when the time is right.  When they play Australia, New Zealand in the Tri Nations they seem to come to life again and these are two of the best teams in the world.

  5. I am a die hard Kiwi and turned into the "Incredible Hulk" when the A'B's lost to France at the world cup. But I always new south africa would win, even if they played the all blacks in the final. I made this pediction during last years tri nations ( much to the laughter and disgust of many friends and family) and I still kick myself over not actually putting my money where my mouth is and betting on them. I thought this because South African rugby had and still has some of the most talented rugby players out there. There big, fast, and have immense skill. And the best rushing defense in the game. I dont know what your worried about! Habana is an absolute nitemare and schalk is a freaking madman!!!! And now that rokococo and jerry collins aren't in the all blacks, who the h**l will contain them. S.A to win this years tri nations................................ but I really hope not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. It is actually a pretty easy question to answer...

South Africa, is a country with deep rugby roots within its community, and it will never and should never be written off as a very good team, capable of beating any other nations in rugby when they have their day. So, in my opinion, South African rugby, might have a slow start, with a few undesirable results early on, but they will be, as always considered as a powerhouse of world rugby!

  7. Actually (to the guy above) they played Wales in November after the world cup. This was in Cardiff and the score was 34-12 to SA. I don't think the standard of South African Rugby is slipping...yet, but the Wales tour to South Africa will be a huge test for both sides.

  8. What are you on about, girl? We have not played  a single game since the World Cup. We have also not lost a single player of note. Matfield, Smit, Montgomery an James are all in the team next week against Wales.  We have in fact gained a few great players.

Nothing is down the drain - yet.
