South African cricketers EXPOSED: Sexual Orgies, smoking marijuana and match fixing in the words of Herschelle http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gibbs-c60021
Reading books has always been a tiresome drill. More so when it is the memoirs of the life of a cricketer. Now for some strange inexplicable reason, cricketers are thought to be castrated men who live their lives on the field and during the breaks, gulp
down some tea and snacks in their Victorian attire. Fortunately, the modern day cricketer is anything but let’s just say – Victorian. For one, they do get their fair share of ladies. Secondly and most importantly, quite a few of them are social disasters.
For us, they manage to create the perfect mix of an irresponsible, immature, unscrupulous, alcoholic who indulges in vain frivolities and aimless frolicking to satisfy carnal passions as he just happened to take up cricket as a profession.
Now that forms a story worth reading. Add to that some sexual orgies, smoking marijuana and match fixing and you will find yourself staring at the perfect best seller. Herschelle Gibbs has written an autobiography of himself where he has exposed the dark
side of South African cricket. He then writes about the experiences of him and his team mates to delve into the rather unnecessary details of the bedroom with two beds, two cricketers and three women. (Proceed with caution – Parental advisory required)
"I got the ball rolling, but then I noticed that my mate was feeling a little left out. Now, he's lying on the other bed so big-hearted chap that I am, I say, 'Well, you can't leave my mate all alone there.' And fortunately, one of them was only too happy
to transfer ship."
Women he writes were always rolling in. That was part of the package of being a cricketer. They hunted in packs as he gave the memoirs a rather beastly touch and went on to explain that if they liked what they saw, they’d give the person a ride of their
lifetime.
During the Proteas tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 in 1997/98, they apparently saw a pretty girl at the bar and things got a little ‘un-Victorian’ as the girl revealed to be a stripper. There was lots of booze and in his own words, “Things loosened up a lot more after
that. Various items of clothing were removed in an eyebrow-raising kind of way, and one thing invariably led to another."
The book, which is to be released tomorrow, also reveals how the South African team is dominated by a clique of senior players. He said that the team came under scrutiny for being run by some older players that included Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Mark
Boucher and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887. He writes that the former coach of the team tried to take on the players however he had to bow down to them.
While many people have begun to disregard cricket as a rather boring sport, this memoir will most certainly shed some light on the darker side of guilty pleasures in the game of cricket. He also writes about his disastrous marriage that eventually led to
a divorce. A chronic alcoholic, his drunken ways received a nod of disapproval from his wife and in his own words, one road trip ended in him pulling some of her hair out as they began to physically fight each other.
All memoirs also have a pinch of self glorification and rather gloatingly, he admits that as explosive as his batting was on the field, it could not quite match the pyrotechnics of his life off it. According to the publisher, other than the book of the tennis
sensation, Andre Aggasi there is not another memoir that sheds so much light on the worlds that were inhabited by the sports celebrities including the intricate details that go on to be exposed.
Let’s just hope that this particular memoir helps the game of cricket shed some Victorian skin to emerge a little lively with pinch craziness.
