South African vice-captain Jacques Kallis applauds Pakistan as they remain stable in the ICC rankings
South Africa’s stand-in captain Jacques Kallis praised Pakistan for their brave fight in the second Test match on Wednesday.
Pakistan managed to draw the second Test match as the two series was tied at 0-0 in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The first Test, which took place in Dubai last week, also failed to record any result.
Kallis said that Pakistan deserved all the credit as South Africa had put Pakistan under pressure in both the Tests; however, Pakistan’s cricket turned out to do all the talking for the negativities faced by the country’s cricket.
Kallis said that Pakistan performed as if they were meant to fight through the pressure and their cricket looks positive at the moment.
Kallis said that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Misbah-ul-Haq-c1972
and Azhar Ali steered their side to safety.
Kallis, who was filling in for Graeme Smith as he was ruled out to field in between of the game due to a finger injury, criticized the flat pitch in the two Tests which contributed in the no-result series.
However, the draw in the series meant that South Africa lost two points but they managed to remain constant at their second position according to the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test championship rankings, whereas Pakistan
gained five ratings points and overall their points increased to 88 but they remained at the sixth position.
South Africa is now just a point ahead of Sri Lanka who is at the third position. However, the Proteas can rest assure as http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 in the first Test at Galle. The second Test match’s prospects
are also painting the same picture as the matches are being disrupted due to heavy rains. But if Sri Lanka manages to achieve a 2-0 series win, they would not be increasing their rank points. However, if they manage to win the third Test match (1-0 series
win) then they would be falling to 113 points, just a point ahead of England.
Cricket http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 (CSA) CEO Gerald Majola also praised the Proteas on a successful tour and managing to remain unbeaten in the limited overs and Test series.
South Africa would now be eyeing a clean sweep against number one ranked team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 as they face each other next month on home soil.
