  1. Australia is a lot safer and has better economic prospects.

  2. If you haven't moved yet, I'd consider the Cherrybrook/Castle Hill area of Sydney,

loads of South Africans there and it's a really nice place to raise a family

  3. i'm not south-african

  4. There are a lot of South African, Rhodesian, and Kenyan ex pats living in Perth. A lot of the ones that came over during the era of Afrikaner rule did so because they were ethnic English and didn't want their kids to be bullied and bastardised by the Boer scum when they turned 18 and had to do National Service. A lot of them complained about the crime rate in South Africa.

The Kenyan white ex pats seemed to be more radical left wingers than the Southerners.

The Rhodesians saw the writing on the wall and probably figured out what Zimbabwe would become today.

Some of the South Africans I've recently met are later arrivals and are different to the earlier migrants. They are the Boers, and they don't like what has happened after DeKlerk left. They seem to hanker for black servants and are very very intolerant and racist compared to the migrants of the 1970's.

They call everyone chinks, boongs, wogs, dagos, indians, and whinge about every one else they find in Australia.
