South America, what do you have to say about it?

I'm going to various countries in South America this summer, so tell me about any experiances you've had in any countries down there. Was there a great tour through a rainforest that you went through for only $20? Did you try to order something at a restaurant only to get laughed at? What should I avoid doing in Ecuador? What should I for sure do in Chile? Stuff like that.

  1. vamos vamos, i am from ecuador, and there are very little things you shouldnt do in ecuador, its a verry underated country. it has 4 regions, coast, galapagos, jungle, and the mountains, you could spend weeks and not see it all, the people have a unique culture, you should really eat the japingachos and el ceviche: japingachos are potatoe pies with a twist. you should visit the indigenous town of otavalo, you will found a colorfull marketplace. also, my uncle, jorge anhalzer, is a fotographer down there, he owns a small plane, maybe he could take you on a plane trip around the mountains, and you will be amazed. the orient well, dont go to the north,, the colombian guerrilla es there, but the south is peacefull and fascinating. the coastal ppl are really friendly and open, you shoul go to bahia de caraquez , a city in the province of manabi, it will be easy to find. there is also the semi coast semi mountain city of santo  domingo de los colorados, keep going down the road, and youll find a a gas station, my dad owns it and hangs around there alot, he mightbe able to show some of its culture, ask for mauricio anhalzer, for example the indigenous people. the capital, quito, is very modern and rather large, go to the center and you will fin the ex- patrimonial center of latin american culture: el centro de quito. its beautiful, dont miss it.  ahh, well important people., too many too name. ecuador is a balanced country, balanced in modernity and tradition, so you wont be laughed at when you order something.

farewell, and have fun in my country!

You could see the canal in Panama, you could see Los Katios or the Gold museum in Colombia, you could see Igazu falls in Argentina, You could see Easter Islands in Chile, You could see the Galapagos in Ecuador. You could stand on the equator in Quito, You could see how Coffee is grown in Colombia. You could see The Amazon. You could see flowers and birds and animals that dont exist anywhere else. You could know other cultures, Foods and peoples. It WILL change your life.
