Most latinos I know are macho and it is always bad to criticize them in front of others.

I have seen lots of incidents where a male would ask a question and a woman would answer correctly. Unsatisfied with that answer, they would specifically ask a man the same question and take that answer over what the woman said.

They are but not to the degree that you lose sleep over it. Times have changed now and they too, learned how to respect women and relationships. Of course, there is always one "macho man" who has to spoil the "concept" of a "man" but as long as you let them know, who you are (keep your head held high at all times), they understand and will respect you !
