South Australia crushes Tasmania by nine-wickets in Big Bash Twenty20
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Australia-c844 beat them comprehensively by nine wickets in Hobart. It took South Australia just 11.3 overs to chase down the 111-run target.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/George-Bailey-c1480 won the toss for Tasmania and elected to bat first. The wicket seemed to be perfect for batting but the Tasmanian batsmen gave their wickets away and never settled down. The first wicket fell for 21 when Mark Cosgrove gave a simple catch to
the fielder at mid-wicket. He survived earlier with the same shot but wasn’t lucky the second time.
His wicket saw the Tasmanian batting collapse, as five of the top order batsmen were dismissed within 50 runs. Ryan ten Doeschate and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Luke-Butterworth-c1850 offered some resistance but Doeschate was dismissed after scoring 22 runs. Pakistani fast bowler Naved-ul-Hasan
tried to lift the scoring rate as he struck some hefty blows, but his innings was short-lived and he was out after scoring 15 runs off just 9 balls.
Tasmania were bowled-out in 19.1 overs, and would have known that their below par total would be difficult for the bowlers to defend. The South Australian bowlers were outstanding as they didn’t allow the Tasmanian team any opportunity to score runs. They
bowled in the right channels and took wickets at regular intervals. The star performers for South Australia with the ball were Adil http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rashid-c84058 and Nathan Lyon. Both took three wickets each in the match and didn’t give away too many runs.
Tasmania has a very strong bowling line-up with Ben Hilfenhaus, Naved-ul-Hasan and Jason Krejza leading the attack for them. However, it was a difficult ask for the bowlers to defend just 110 runs on a flat batting wicket. Hilfenhaus did give his team the
early breakthrough but that wasn’t enough. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aiden-Blizzard-c958 blazed their way to victory. Harris remained unbeaten on 66 off just 40 balls. His innings included seven fours and three sixes.
Blizzard supported Harris and scored 36 runs off 28 balls striking five fours in his knock. South Australia won the match by nine wickets, and Lyon was named as the player-of-the-match because of his tremendous spell of bowling. Hilfenhaus was the lone wicket-taker
for Tasmania after he took the wicket of Michael Klinger in the very first over, but overall it was difficult for the bowlers to restrict the South Australian batsmen within their score of 110.
