Day 1, October 23.

partnership was not allowed to proceed beyond 18 runs.
The Bulls’ visiting skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JR-Hopes-c1744 (27-10-52-2) led from the front and claimed two quick wickets to put the Redbacks on unsteady ground. The 6th over of their innings saw Hughes falling prey to Hopes, trapped lbw for a paltry 8. His successor
Sam http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Hartley-c1243 off Hopes in the 10th over, to leave the Redbacks at a precarious 29 for 2.
His successor Callum Ferguson, however, succeeded in steadying the team’s innings to a great degree. Opener Klinger brought his individual score up to 48, and joined Ferguson for a 64-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. The 39th over
saw http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ben-Cutting-c1132 (19-5-46-2) swooping in to send Klinger back to the pavilion, but his successor Travis Head kept the momentum going, and chipped in with a 22-run contribution, in addition to joining Ferguson for a 57-run stand.
Their combined efforts saw the Redbacks’ score swelling to 150 by the 53rd over, after which Head was caught out by Hopes off http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Daniel-Christian-c1308 (14) followed Head back to the pavilion shortly after tea,
bowled by Cutting in the 69th over.

partnership for the 6th wicket, which they will be hoping to add to on Day 2, having finished Day 1 at 256 for 5 by stumps.
