South Coast pins hopes on South African Twins – Nicola and Melissa

South African Women’s Open is about to start and the most excited players, perhaps, are the South Africans themselves. South Africa will be represented by 23 players, including six top amateurs.
Two players will stand out in the tournament because of their shared connection, a pair of twins who have made their mark on South African golf and beyond.  Nicola Eaton and Melissa Eaton-Jackson are well known in both South Africa and in America.
Interestingly, both sisters live apart. Melissa is married to an American and lives in America. Nicola, on the other hand, is content with South Africa.
Both the sisters are childhood golf prodigies. They started playing at a young age under the guidance of their mother, Colleen, herself a former pro golfer.
The better between the pair is Melissa. She moved to the US and got the chance to play on the Symetra Tour. This tour is considered to be the best route to earn an LPGA ticket. The tour grooms the players and prepares them for the tough world of LPGA tournaments.
Nicola is more of a home girl. She has played in a couple of tournaments but nothing more. She plans to make it big in the Ladies European Tour circuit.
When asked about her upcoming participation in South African Open, she said that she is as good as other players and her chances of winning depend on her being calm during the game.
This is exactly the advice their mother has given to both her daughters - Stay focused and forget all that is happening around the golf course. Many experts will agree that this is the best advice any coach could give to a player.
Nicola and Melissa are hopeful for a great performance in the upcoming national event. The tournament means more to them than just a golf event.
The sisters are banking on a good performance in this event to elevate their rankings in international golf.
However, it is the national honour that the sisters will defend in Selborne Park Golf Club. South Africa is the defending champion and the South African players are determined to keep the trophy home.
