  1. This is mostly based on what some of my Korean friends said and being there a month.  If you smile too much, they take it as a sign that you are stupid, so I wouldn't overdo the "American charm".  They understand you are different and don't expect you to act like a Korean.  They seemed very happy that I knew a little bit of their language but I wouldn't overdo that either.  I always found them very easy to get along with if you show them respect and treat them like you would anybody else.

  2. bORING!!!! are you always this high tech, or are you trying to still follow orders?

  3. Well most asians look for eye contact, and tend to 'smile' in the eyes. where as the 'smile' as we know it can sometimes show a lack of restraint.

    also a study showed americans use " :) " as a smile,

and most asians communities of gamers and programmers use a " ^_^ " to indicate happy.. basically they highlight the eyes to show joy, where as we see a smile of joy..

small diffrences in the countries can lead to big misunderstandings..

wish i had more, but i hope this helps!
