South Korean Inbee Park wins her second LPGA title in France
South Korean Inbee Park shot a 66 in the final round of the Evian Masters 2012 to win her second LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) title.
Park displayed a stunning performance in all the four rounds, as she faced a field packed with most of the big names on the Tour. The South Korean star was more than happy when she saw her name on top of the
leaderboard after fighting a nerve-jangling battle against her nearest rival Stacy Lewis of the United States.
Lewis, who got off to a solid start as she posted a 63 in the opening round of the LPGA event, played at Evian-les-Bains, France, had expressed confidence in her game because she kept the momentum going in
the second round as well.
However, the American LPGA star could not maintain her grip in the third round as she registered a 73, giving Park plenty of room to surge ahead.
Commentators said that Park was not regarded as the hot favourite contender for the Evian Masters 2012, however, by the time she reached her second round, she had proved her critics wrong.
After getting to an average start in the first round, the 24-year-old South Korean picked up pace in the second round as she recorded a 64 and ramped up pressure on rivals.
Park looked completely fired up in the final round, as she managed to trample all her rivals after shooting a 66. Speaking to the media at the end of the concluding round, Park said that she gained confidence
after the third round. She said that she was not hopeful when she was completing her third round, but thanks to a sensible game, she was able to surge ahead.
“After yesterday, I mean, there was a lot of players that was in contention, so I knew that I have to shoot a good number today out there,” Park shared. “It looks like it wasn't going to happen until the middle
of the round.  But at the end I had a really strong finish to finish the round, so it was a great putting day today. My plan was to go in three shots, and that really worked out well on the last hole”.
