Question:

South LA really banning fast food?

I read that Southern LA is banning fast food. Is this true?

Sure, it sounds good, but most of the time, that's all the poorer folks down there can afford! It's cheap! Fast food is better than no food!

Is that just a rumor, or is it another example of liberal fascism?

I mean, the politicians were elected to do what's in the best interest of the American public, NOT enforce their own values on us under penalty of law. Most politicians are ignorant swine that don't realize that they were elected to enforce the publics views and not their own.

So is this fast food ban a myth, or is it true?

  1. All I can say is, "I HOPE so!" The entire community of South LA needs transformation--it needs books stores, sit-down restaurants, etc. Part of the idea is similar to what Magic Johnson did for Baldwin Hills when he put in his theater and brought more businesses into the community.

  2. The ban is on new fast food places.  The ELECTED official proposed the ban.  The people he rep'd put him in place.  Don't talk about liberal fascism.  He was elected fair and square.  Have you ever been to So. Central?..I have.  You will not have a problem finding any fast food you want.  What you will have a problem finding is grocery stores and drug stores. (When I say drug stores, I don't mean corners where you can buy pot, crack, coke, heroin, or pills for pill poppers.)  The ELECTED officials wanted this to happen...Who are you to criticize the people in the area.  You should turn up your Rush Limbaugh and forget about "the hood" and worry about your white bread neighborhood and your association dues in your non minority neighborhood.

  3. I read that they are trying to ban fast food chains from opening new restaurants in places including West Adams, Baldwin Village, and Leimert

    Park.

  4. I think the ban is against building any new ones. Don't know if it for all or just the big names.

  5. i didn't here anything about it then again i'm on the other side of the country...

i think that's ridiculous and stupid tho if it is true and they better not try to pull that sh.!t around.

  6. They are putting a one year moritorium on fast food retaurants in the area because there is an abundance of them already.  I personally would like too know what happened to personal responsibility in this day and age.

  7. It's true.  'liberal fascism'  -- interesting term. I'm a democrat/liberal and think the fast food ban is the dumbest idea i've heard. there so many better/smarter/more effective ways at curbing obesity.

  8. No there not banning fast food altogether. All there doing is banning new fast food resturants from opening up int hat area. So it does not effect the already open fast food chains already operating in that area. And from what i've heard its only a temporary ban for liek a year or soemthing.
