Question:

South West Trains - where to put my bike?

So I have to use a bike, but I don't know where to put it on the train :( Please help :D

  1. Generally trains allow up to two bicycles per car and they are to be fastned down just like a wheel chair and stayed with all the time. And the drag part is is a wheelchair person boards your bike is sol basically so move to another car


  2. every three or so carriages there is a bike carriage with room for a few bicycles. If you board the train through the correct doors it should just be a matter of lifting your bike off the platform and into position. You can tell the carriages from bike stickers on the outside of the train

    Hope this helps, this is what it's like in the Southampton area anyway.

  3. of the old slam door trains (common between Portsmouth and Southampton and Portsmouth and Winchester) then you should be able to get a compartment near the front or back of the train. If its one of the newer trains then you should be OK in the vestibule or the buffet car bit

  4. They always seem to be blocking where you get on and off, you may as well follow suit.
