In the second semi-final of the ongoing Deodhar Trophy, South Zone after being put into bat by their opposition have piled 258 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the match which is being played at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.
Openers KL http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahul-c83321 and GH Vihari gave their side a stand of 28 runs, before the batting side lost their first wicket on the demise of Rahul, who fell after scoring 10 runs off 25 deliveries.
Then with 38 runs on the board the batting side lost their second wicket with Vihari perishing after scoring 23 runs off 33 deliveries.
In the third-wicket partnership, the batting side took the score to 61 runs, before B Aparajith perished after scoring six runs. The batsman was removed by Unadkat after getting caught by Dhurv.
Skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KD-Karthik-c1780 and CM Gautam then hammered their side towards 98 runs, with the two batsmen hammering away the bowlers. This partnership looked solid and threatening enough to cause the bowlers to lose focus.
However, after taking the score to 98 runs, this partnership met its demise on the wicket of Gautam, who fell after scoring 14 runs.

The batting duo took the score to 143 as the two batsmen thrashed the bowlers everywhere. This pair played its last on the wicket of the captain, who hit the showers after scoring 45 runs off 66 deliveries.
Baby was then joined by STR Binny and just when the fielding side thought they had the batting side contained, the two batsmen launched another thrashing, smashing impressive shots all around the park.
The pair batted their side towards 230 runs before Baby was then the next to go after he had scored 58 runs.

Binny was now South Zone’s only hope of continuing the scoring rate, however, he was the last man to walk off the field as he was run out after hammering 65 runs.
