South korean applying to US college? How to do it?

I have a friend in South Korea who wants to apply to college in the United States but she doesn't know how, and neither do I.

If anyone could give me any information on applying to college in South Korea as both a first-year student and as a transfer (since she may have to wait), I will bow at your feet and give you e-candy and e-hugs.

Thanks bunches.

  1. I would look into different colleges and then call them directly and they should be able to guide you in the right direction of what they specifically want and need.  A college is basically a business and they want your money (tuition) so I am sure they will be more than helpful.  And all colleges love diversity and love to see people from other countries on their campuses.  There is a lot everyone can learn from that kind of situation.  International students have a lot to offer.

  2. It depends on what college she's going to. Not all have the same policy. She will have to pass an English evaluation test and score a minimum grade or she won't be allowed.

Edit: You would probably have contact potential colleges. Some might have it listed but different countries have different policies for what's required. Bigger campuses are more likely to have a larger majority of foreign students and probably a more explained foreign student policy online.

  3. You must have money in the bank, to qualify for your student visa.

Contact the school registrar, they have the forms and information necessary for the government permit.

The school requires English language skills.

Most schools have the same requirements as far as entry, so talking to a school near you will get you the paperwork you need.
