  1. The Serenade is one of four of Royal Caribbeans' Radiance Class ships.  I have not cruised on the Serenade but I have cruised on two of its identical twin sister ships, the Jewel of the Seas and the Brilliance of the Seas.  I loved the ship and it's one of my favorites of Royal Caribbeans' ships.

The ship has a beautiful 5 story glass atrium in its center and you will for sure want photos taken there on the steps.  The first stop when you get on ship, after you drop your carry ons in your cabin, will be the Windjammer Cafe where lunch will be ready.  I love the Windjammer on the Jewel and Brilliance because it has an open area, a terrace, in the back so you can eat outside.  Some of the tables are under a covered area and others are out in the sunshine.  You'll want to take pictures there also when you first board as they will have food and melon carvings on a table at the entrance to welcome you aboard.

The main dining room on the ship is very nice.  Its two stories with draped columns supporting the upper floor and a stairway at one end.  The ship has a very nice casino, a small movie theater, and a very nice show room.  The pool deck has a pool and hot tubs.  Further back is the kids play area and it has a water slide.  Then further to the back of the ship is the rock climbing wall, a minigolf course, and a full sized basketball court.

We had balcony cabins on both of our cruises and they were really nice.  It had a very nice wood panel decor.  Just outside one of the lounges, the Schooner Bar,  is an area with a pool table; RC is the only ship with them on board.  The ship has a nice disco on one of the top decks and a gym on the front of the ship that is also very vice with a good variety of equipment.  There is also a covered pool and hot tub area just outside the gym called the Solarium.  So depending upon what you like to do, I'm sure that you will find it on the Serenade.

The ship has only two "specialty" restaurants, Chops Grille, and Portofino.  We never ate in either as the main dining room food was great for us, no need to pay a fee for a meal when there's a great free meal.

You can look at the features of the ship and take a virtual tour on this web link:  http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruis...
