  1. St Lucia- we sea kayaked across Rodney Bay to Pigeon Point and then hiked up the hill to historic Ft. Rodney. The views were breathtaking.

Antigua- The perfect place for just a beach day. Hire a taxi to take you to Dickenson's Beach and just relax. Public toilet, Shade, $5 lounge rentals, and beach shack type restaurant. Be sure to negotiate the taxi ride before you get in.

St. Thomas- Get away from the crowds and take the ferry over to St. John. Its 2/3 National Park. The ranger there can help you with directions to 7 or 8 different beaches. Restaurants and shops near where you get off the ferry.

We haven't been to your other ports, but you can check on cruiseaddicts.com or cruisecritic.com and do some searching for other reviews of those ports.

  2. Go to CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards", then "Ports of Call" to find info on all the ports from experienced cruisers.

In SJ, you can walk [uphill] to the fort, then back into Old SJ and wander the cobblestone streets and window shop [check out the "butterfly store" if it's still there!], depending on what time you'll be there.

In Dominica, the main thing to do is to tour the different waterfalls, etc.  Or snorkel at Champagne beach.  But if you want to do something really different and fun, try the "Canopy Tour" at WackyRollers.  [This may only be offered through the ship.]  There are several postings at CC about this.  I've done it and it was one of the neatest things we've ever done on a cruise!

St. Thomas has beautiful beaches and, I've heard, great shopping [I don't like to waste time shopping on a cruise!].  But St. John is even more beautiful!  Again, if you're adventurous and can handle planning your own excursion, look into hiking the Linde Point Trail in the national park [check their website] to a nearly deserted beach [two, actually].  It's about a mile, but very easy.  You then either hike back the way you came, or you can continue to Caneel Bay [very easy hike] and get a cab back to Cruz Bay.  No facilities at all the the two beaches, but also no people to speak of.

Be careful in St. Lucia.  The CC boards have had some postings by people who've had problems going out on their own.  [Although using a ship excursion is no guarantee of safety, either, as several cruisers in Jamaica found out last year!]

    Have a great cruise!!

  3. Go to Soufriere on St. Lucia, see the Pitons and take a tour of the botanical gardens.

  4. Is this Celebrity cruise lines because if it is I just went on that same cruise except we had 11 nights.  Dominica has 2 nice waterfalls check them out.  I just got back from this cruise and all the islands are nice.  Take the tour of Barbados that was cool.  We did a beach break in St. Lucia and all of the shopping was right at port.  St. Kitts beaches were a little better than St. Lucia I thought.  You will have a great time.

On our 11 night cruise the only island I did not like was Grenada.  That was a bad island, because the second we left port so many people kept comming up to us trying to give us rides and take us places that were not certified by the cruise.  On our way to a suvenier store I almost fell into this wicked big hole on the sidewalk.  We didn't see any authority so we just went into one store then turned right back around and went into port and back to the ship.
