Circumstances have lead to the fact that I need to move into a like $600 cheap apartment within the next 1-2 months, where can I find this in Guelph, Southern Ontario, Canada?

You should be able to find a one bedroom apt for close to that amount in Guelph.  Check out the rental listings in the local newspaper, the Guelph Mercury, at www.guelphmercury.com.  Since it is a college and university town, and summer is coming, you will probably have an easier time finding a place now than you would in August just before the start of school.
