Question:

Southwest Airlines Check-In/ Boarding pass question?

I just checked in for my flight exactly 24 hours before it departs and I got an A-37 boarding pass. I thought that I would get something better, especially because I checked in EXACTLY 24 hours before my flight departs. Why am I so far back?

  1. It doesn't matter WHEN you check in, it just matters which class of ticket you have. If you purchased a Web-only cheap $59 fare, you'll be at the back of the line, buddy.

  2. You're behind people who bought the business seats.  They get first priority because they paid more.

  3. The people who buy the "business select" fare are guaranteed first pick in the A section.  It is disappointing to not be the very first person even though you checked in so early, but that's still an early spot, so you will probably still get a good seat.
