Why are they so high? I recently moved here from Mass and found that the SAME insurance policy with the EXACT SAME coverage was literally DOUBLE!!! It went from $70 monthly to $144!!!

  1. when i moved from pennsylvania to new jersey, mine doubled too!  its because there are more accidents in your new state and people there may drive, on average, more expensive cars.

  2. Rates fluctuate based on many factors. One being  your zip code. Instances of accidents, stolen cars, and insurance payouts where you live are how insurance companies rate premiums.

All you could do is maybe remove the collision from your policy (only if the car is paid for), ask to raise the deductable, or trade the car for a less valuable one.

ALSO- any traffic violations or accidents in your past will also affect how much your rates are.

Do you have any moving violations or accidents in the past 3 years?
