Question:

Souvenirs from spain?

I'm going to Spain in about a week for a 10-day trip. I'd like to purchase some souvenirs for about six family members and friends. What would be some good, relatively inexpensive gifts to bring them? I'll be visiting Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Burgos, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Toledo, Montserrat, Segovia, as well as a few smaller places. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks so much!

  1. Stuffed donkey, casternets, sombrero, and those jar things that you put wine in.

  2. OK, so Toledo is known for its sword-making and the artist El Greco.  I got my dad a cool mini-sword letter opener in Toledo.  Segovia is the last Spanish city to have an aqueduct, so there are a lot of souvenirs pertaining to that.  Barcelona and Madrid have tons of tourist attractions, so it won't be hard to find little knick-knacks around those cities.  San Sebastian is in the Basque region which is known for its cider or sidra.  You could pick up a bottle of that pretty cheap, but keep in mind that it's alcoholic.  I haven't visited the other cities, so I don't know about those.  I'm envious.  Spain is an awesome country, you'll have SO much fun!

  3. Do you know something,I went to Benadorm 3yr back id just lost my best friend in the world,You may laugh but it was one of my horses,I took his photo with me and had a Bronze un marble head statue made of him cost me 39 euro it weighs a tonne but very personnel to me un priceless too.in the old town .take something that means a lot to who ever your buying for un make it special to them.xx

  4. Food and wine! You have to taste jam, cheese, wine, "chorizo", "fuet" (in Barcelona)...

  5. Spain has great pottery available for sale.  Safron is also very cheap here, so for the cook in the family that would be a great gift. Hand made shawls, cute Spanish dress styled aprons.  Sherry from Jerez is also a good one.. Stay away from the goat skin lamps from Morocco, as they really stink after a while.. they hides are not properly cured.  We have relatively cheap leather products too.
