Sovereign Debt in a solid position to win Portland Place Properties Conditions Stakes
Sovereign Debt seems to be in a great position to win the Portland Place Properties Conditions Stakes at Newmarket in England on Thursday, July 12, 2012. He will have to outshine seven other runners in order to win a cash prize of £9,338.
The track was good in some parts earlier, but rain has made the conditions soft in the 1 mile event, which is scheduled to start at 16:05 GMT. This will make things a bit difficult for a few runners, thus their respective trainer could withdraw their names
from the list.
Things are really looking good for Sovereign Debt at the moment, as he will enjoy the soft ground at Newmarket. He has done well in such conditions in the past as well, which will help him get the attention of the punters. The bookies already believe that
he will walk away with a comfortable victory, as he has been priced 7 to 4.
The three-year-old colt has participated in just three races this year and two out of them were on a soft track, which he enjoyed a lot. Overall, he has participated in eight events in his career, winning three of them whereas finished runner up once.
In May 2011, Sovereign Debt made his debut in the sport and seemed to be an overage runner, as he could only manage a seventh place back then. He was priced 20 to 1 in that event and was no way near the front runners.
However, this did not stop the Michael Bell’s trainee from making a strong comeback in his very next race, which he went onto win comfortably by a couple of lengths. He followed that run with another victory, showing what he was actually capable of. Although
he was in a very strong position after succeeding in two races, yet he failed to finish that season on a high.
The start to the 2012 season proved to be a very good one for the son of Dark Angel, as he finished runner up in the first race. He followed that up with an impressive victory, but failed to deliver a positive result in his most recent outing.
Sovereign Debt will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Jamie Spencer, who has got a good winning percentage.
