Soxy Lady to swing back into form in the S. T. C. Ltd Stakes at Harlow
Harlow will host the S. T. C. Ltd Stakes over 415 metres flat on Sunday, 6th May. Competing for the £150 prize money are Cherry Bomb, Jura Luna, Buglys Buddha, Millwards Aztec and Soxy Lady.
Soxy Lady, Droopys Maldini’s three-year-old black daughter out of b***h, Offshore Sox, has all the potential of making it beyond the wire before the rest of the contestants tonight.
Her seasonal debut was in a Grade A5 415 metres at Harlow on 7th January. The race was won by Falkners Meg who took 26.48 seconds and led the runner up of the race, Swift Bianca, by ¾ of a length. She timed the distance in 26.54 seconds.
Soxy Lady settled fourth behind the winner after racing for 26.82 seconds while the 2/1 favourite of the race, Ethans Tanner, was the last hound to leave the track.
She remained winless in the next five races, with hitting the fifth position thrice at Harlow over 415 metres.
Her first success of the season was in a Grade A6 415 metres flat on 25th February at Harlow. Soxy Lady was entered as the evening’s favourite and clocked the track distance in 26.35 seconds and led the runner up, Lolly Pop, by four lengths.
She completed the trip in 26.67 seconds and was soon joined in by Posh Marnie who raced for 27.09 seconds.
Her very next attempt was a victory too. On 3rd March she won the Grade A4 Owners Bonus Series Heat 2 at Harlow over 415 metres. She reached the other end of the wire in 25.99 seconds and took charge of the final 2 ¼ lengths. Finishing the closest to the winner was Dainty Valley who timed the distance in 26.17 seconds.
Taking up the third slot was Scala Kewell while the 5/4 favourite of the race, Nire Bullet, finished fifth behind the winner.
This was the first and last time till yet that the three-year-old paired up victories because after this she once again became victim of losing the races one after the other.
Her most recent try was in the Prim Stakes on 28th April at Harlow over 415 metres but she could only manage the fifth position after racing for 27.46 seconds even though she was entered as the 5/4 favourite of the race.
She needs to bounce back into form today for claiming the race.
