  1. Well, since you won't be putting him on milk until 12 months you have  time to see if he is going to grow out of it.  My son was  on Isomil (soy formula) until 12 months and then when I switched him to milk he got sick.  They then told me that  he must be having a reaction to the lactose.  I had him on Soy milk until he was about 2 and then tried the cows milk again.  He was fine with it and has been drinking it ever since.  He is now 8 years old and has no problems with milk at all.

Every child will be different, but they can and usually do grow out of it.  Just try it...if it doesn't agree with him, then try it again after a while.

    Best of  luck!

  2. If its okayed by the doctor and done gradually it should go smoothly unless he is lactose intolerant or there is an allergy. You will not know either one unless you try. Good Luck!

  3. Your child should be on the soy formula until at least 12 months before you begin giving him milk cups/bottles.  When it's time to switch from formula to milk, I would do it in small doses as to see just how well his system is handling it.  My middle son was a soy baby and he still had his allergic reactions to milk at 1 year.  My doc recommended that I do a low fat/fat free to start him off and eventually, he was able to get used to it and move on to Vitamin D.
